I'm looking for Walter Illsley who worked at Friends World Instititute and Friends World College in the late 1960's and early 1970. I worked with him during the summer of 1966 fixing up Lloyds Harbor estate in prep for it becoming the campus. Walter was in Europe just before WW II and was in Berlin when war was declared. He also was in China from 1948 through 1952. Then on to Mexico. When I worked with him at Lloyds Harbor he has several children and a wonderful wife. I'd love to find him and see how he is doing. I run a nonprofit in Hawai'i now. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Searching for a prof
Fri, July 14, 2006 - 10:17 AMI remember a professor with dark hair and a wife with long black hair who was at the original center which was at the barracks. (The good old days when you could bust a wall down or paint whatever and no one cared.) He was also at the center in Africa. I was there 68 - 71. I am not sure if you are the David I remember, I knew 2 actually. My name is Lynn Roberts and am now in Cincinnati teaching. Let me know if we were in the same class or whatever. Those classes tended to merge then. Lynn -

Re: Searching for a prof
Tue, July 18, 2006 - 11:35 AMHi Lynn, I didn't go to FWI, just worked there during the summer of 1967. Ended up going to Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio. That does sound like the professor though, I wonder how I could find out what happened to him. Oh well, maybe this tribe will help.
I now live in Honolulu and run a nonprofit.
thanks, david -
