Yes there is, it is under groups. Look under "Friends World" or must I say it "Global College" , it not quite as big as the group here though.

I am on facebook, and I found a group for Global College - Friends World that I found. It was under study groups/travel programs if anyone is curious quite a few people there, not as many as are in here, but some newer students as well as some old that I have not seen in a long time. Check it out.

I have a copy of the thesis and I'm hoping to get it up on the web one of these days. I didn't know I had lost it.

For those who haven't heard of it (probably most FW'icks at this point), I wrote it in 1982-83 when the origins and the history of Friends World already seemed lost in the mists of time -- a history of the college and a reflection on the dynamics of experiential education. I actually and sent a copy to every center, so it wouldn't get lost, but with all the center closings etc. I doubt that any of those old physical copies still survive. (If somehow someone here acquired one, hold onto it. It'll probably be a valuable collectors item by 2050 or so.)

Hi, Kirk - long time no see. In fact, I think it was at your wedding the last time I saw you. Hope all is well. I'm still here in Maryland, still working at the NIH - I'm from the government and I'm here to help you! But, job hunting at last. Did you ever find a copy of your thesis on FWC?

I have a link there back to the FW Tribe, and I think this is a fine place for threaded discussions and so on. It seemed like there ought to be a place on Facebook, for alums who think of looking there. It looks like Facebook is going to be really big. Some of the functions there are pretty amazing, but on the other hand it's easy to get distracted there from the "real world" reasons why we would want to make connections.

We'll see how it works out in the longer run.

Hey, folks. I've been checking in here from time to time, but I guess I let my log-in lapse. Tracking the conversations, but haven't had much to add. Unhappy about "Global College." As Gertrude Stein says, "There is no there there."

Recently I joined Facebook. When I ran a search there to see if they had anything on Friends World, it looked like not yet, so I started a group there. And if you're looking to start there, you can hook up with me.

Also, I started a blogspot. You'll find it via the Facebook page.

Peace out.
