Hey everyone, I am writing this post to really strongly encourage everyone to post photos taken during their time in FW. Of course its super easy to upload current photos now that everyone has digital cameras, but I'm sure that most of you have access to a scanner, or can secure access to a scanner (I got mine from Staples for $20, well worth it). I really ache to see things from a different but same perspective, and get tired of looking at my same old pics. So come on!!! Make it your new year's resolution, help populate the FW photo section of the tribe. And I promise to continue to slowly but surely post mine. Thanks in advance!!!!

I just posted a few pics. It's the weirdest thing. I have tons of pictures of *stuff* from that time but almost none of people. But enjoy the few I found!

      Lianna,
I almost died when I saw the one of Angelica, she and I we roomates when I lived in Boliva with FW and become very close friends, I went to visit her in Sweden about 3 years ago. She is now living in Sweden working for the UN with her husband and their 5 children. I love the woman to death, she is tons of fun.

I sent Angelica a message to let her know I'd put up the picture of her.

Maybe more people will put up their old pics and we can see some of those other connections we have!
        • The old FWC campus from space

For the FWCer's among us here's a link to the old Huntington campus. I grabbed it from google earth as it is in recent years (be warned it ain't a happy shot). You can make out the old driveway and the site of the main house, and of course Spencer Ross's boat house is still there (actually it wasn't Spencer's but he got it as a going away present from the school after he voted for the affiliation).

Can you explain a little for those of us who never had the opportunity to go to the huntington campus? Is that like a big house on the old land or something?

all of the original buildings are gone except for the boat house. To the left of that cross like structure you can see the driveway that looped around to the front main house now just a patch of grass. The driveway is very faint on the left hand side. Up near the water, over on the left hand side near the top of picture is a row of hedges kinda shaped like an L. Right below that was the main house at the bottom of the picture you see a road running paralell with the bottom edge of the picture. That's were the dorms were. Now in the lower left of the picture that one house roughly looks to be the size of the barn next to Kennel house (Kennel House is gone). That barn was massive and looks like it may have been converted into a house. The rest of the building have been obliterated. And yes at least two of those houses are new builds on the old land

Does anyone have any idea what exactly it is on the old campus now? Obviously all of the old buildings are torn down, but that great big sturcture in the middle? What is that? Could that possibly be someone's enormous mansion?

I"ve not been to the old campus, but what I took from the photos was that was large home under construction, but I don't know. To be honest I didn't even consider that it could be something other than a grotesquely huge home.
